Berry interception named Play of the Year

A diving one-handed interception that help Berry win its first game in program history was selected as the 2014 GEICO Play of the Year.

Berry College sophomore defensive back Malcholm Graham’s diving interception in Berry territory was a key play in the Vikings 29-23 over Washington. The win came on the 100th Mountain Day at Berry College.

Oct. 4 “was a special night for many reasons,” Berry College Head Coach Tony Kunczewski said in a news release. “For Malcholm’s play to be awarded the GEICO Play of the Year just adds an exclamation point on a very memorable night for Berry and our football program. A big thanks to all who voted to make this happen, and congrats to a very good player and even better young man: Malcholm Graham”

Graham’s play was selected ahead of four other finalists from the 2014 season. The announcement was made on CBS-TV during the “Best of College Football” show on Nov. 28.
