American introducing 777-300ER aircraft on LAX-to-Heathrow route

American Airlines is planning to feature Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on its Los Angeles-to-London Heathrow route.

The aircraft will start appearing next summer, the airline said.

American’s 777-300ERs will be configured as three-class aircraft. They will include fully lie-flat First and Business Class seats with direct aisle access and inflight entertainment at every seat.

American previously announced that customers traveling between Dallas/Fort Worth and Sao Paulo will be the first to experience the newest addition to American’s fleet in December. In February 2013 the aircraft will fly to London Heathrow from both Dallas/Fort Worth and New York JFK.

“We are excited to bring the 777-300ER to more of our key markets, giving our customers traveling between Los Angeles and London the opportunity to experience the industry leading amenities this great aircraft has to offer,” Virasb Vahidi, American’s Chief Commercial Officer, said in a news release. “Our Los Angeles customers will be among the first to experience the state-of-the-art travel experience with new cabin interiors, more inflight entertainment options and seat comfort in every cabin.”
