Bill would require DNA samples from suspected felons

ATLANTA — Anyone arrested on a felony charge in Georgia would be required to submit a DNA sample to a database under a bill the state Senate passed on Wednesday. The measure now heads to the state House for consideration. Officials contend the DNA samples, which would likely be collected via oral swab, could be used to help solve future crimes and/or cold cases. Worked killed in Animal Kingdom mishap

A 52-year-old maintenance worker repairing the Animal Kingdom’s Primeval Whirl died after he was struck by a ride vehicle, according to published reports. “Our Walt Disney World community has experienced a tragic loss,” the Orlando Sentinel quoted Walt Disney World President Meg Crofton as saying in a statement. “We extend our heartfelt condolences to Russ Roscoe’s family and we are working to assist them during this difficult time; our thoughts and our prayers are with
