Dunwoody hires director of economic development

The city of Dunwoody has hired its first director of economic development.

Michael Starling “has an extensive skill set, is knowledgable about Dunwoody and is the perfect choice to develop the City’s economic development program,” Dunwoody City Manager Warren Hutmacher said in a news release.

Starling served as senior business development manager for DeKalb County’s Office of Economic Development. Starling’s role includes growing the city’s economy.

“Dunwoody is part of the largest economic engine in the Southeast and is well positioned to lead the Atlanta region in economic growth as we emerge into a profitable economic climate,” Starling said in a news release.

He starts his new position on Oct. 18.
