Leaf: Thompson to head ‘Wings’ museum effort

Former Sen. Fred Thompson from Tennessee has been named chairman of a $35 million campaign to build the Wings of Liberty Museum, touted as America’s Museum of Patriotism, museum officials announced Tuesday.

Projected to open in 2007, the new museum and historical complex will offer an interactive patriotic experience, drawing on the history of Fort Campbell and its units. More than $35 million in museum artifacts also will be housed at the museum.
