Though primarily known as Jimmy Buffett’s harmonica player, Fingers Taylor has had a fine career of his own.
Taylor’s career has culminated thus far with four studio albums as well as two “best of” compilations: 1998’s Hotel Maids, Highways & Honkytonks and 2000’s Back to the Blues.
During his career, Taylor co-wrote the harmonica-blues classic “Dixie Diner,” which was performed by Larry Raspberry & the Highsteppers as well as Jimmy Buffett & the Coral Reefer Band before recording the song for his 1982 debut, Harpoon Man.
In addition to being a staple of Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band, Taylor has recorded for a myriad of artists, including Larry Raspberry, Jimmy Buffett, James Taylor, and Al Kooper.
Taylor’s latest album has been released, Back to the Blues. The album contains seventeen tracks, spanning his four previous albums. Included on the compilation are “Dixie Diner,” “Good Rocking Woman,” and “Subway Swing.” For more information, or to order the album, click here.
