Malaysia Airlines Flight 17

All 150 passengers and crew aboard a Germanwings flight traveling from Barcelona, Spain, to Dusseldorf, Germany, were killed after an Airbus A320 crashed in southern France.

Though it might be difficult to tell from the spate of news coverage over the course of the past year, but 2014 was a safer year for commercial flying than previous years, a new report suggests.
