The Georgia State men’s basketball team was selected the unanimous favorite to win the Sun Belt Championship once again this year by the league’s head coaches.
Looking to win a second Sun Belt tournament championship in three seasons, No. 2-seed Georgia State will open the conference championship on Friday night at 6 p.m. ET facing No. 7-seed Louisiana at Lakefront Arena in New Orleans.
Georgia State couldn’t overcome a big first half deficit and fell to Appalachian State 76-67 on Thursday night at the Holmes Convention Center. Junior Isaiah Dennis scored a career-high 18 points, but the Panthers couldn’t overcome 12 Mountaineer 3-pointers.
