The Southeastern Railway Museum will host a Steak Cook-Off Association (SCA) sanctioned cook-off on March 28. The event is open to the public, who will be able to interact with participating teams. The Kennesaw Museum Foundation has added three new members to its board. The board approved the additions at its January meeting at the Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History in Downtown Kennesaw. Joining the Board are Joe Bozeman, Todd DeFeo and Chelsea Wilbur. Bozeman is a longtime Kennesaw resident and was previously a member of the board for more than a decade. Shoupade model gifted to Smyrna History Museum

The family of Smyrna resident and local historian Leon McElveen has donated a prized model of a Civil War Shoupade fort to the Smyrna History Museum. Created by noted historian and author Bill Scaife, the model was gifted to McElveen a few years ago. It is the only known exact replica model of this significant and unique fortification. Local agencies, including Gwinnett County Transit, Gwinnett County Public Schools, Gwinnett County Department of Fire and Emergency Services and MARTA, will display buses and equipment during this weekend’s Trains, Trucks & Tractors at the Southeastern Railway Museum in Duluth.
