Chuck Leavell to lead inaugural Songwriters at the Lake festival

Rolling Stones keyboardist Chuck Leavell will lead the inaugural Songwriters at the Lake Music Festival this fall at Lanier Islands Resort in Georgia.

The three-day festival is scheduled for Nov. 13-15 and will feature more than 20 songwriters performing music and sharing the stories behind their songs. The event is presented by Ingles and organized by Songwriters ATL.

The festival gives metro Atlanta residents and visitors another fall entertainment option at Lake Lanier, pairing live music with the storytelling format often associated with songwriter rounds. Organizers said the event is designed to highlight Southern songwriters and the creative process behind familiar songs.

Lanier Islands Resort, located in Buford less than an hour north of Atlanta, describes itself as a 1,200-acre resort on the shores of Lake Lanier with lodging, dining, golf, meeting space and seasonal attractions.

Additional details about the lineup, schedule and tickets are available from Songwriters ATL at the festival website. Information about the resort is available from Lanier Islands Resort at the resort website.
