SMYRNA, Georgia — The Cobb County and Smyrna fire departments are collecting donations for five families at Norton Park Elementary School who lost their belongings in an apartment fire in February, with two local public safety foundations helping coordinate the effort.

The Smyrna Public Safety Foundation and the Cobb County Public Safety Foundation are partnering with the departments to stage a donation drive from Friday, March 20, through Monday, March 23, 2026. Donations will be accepted at two drop-off sites: Cobb County Fire Station 2 at 208 Barber Road in Marietta and Smyrna Fire Station 1 at 2620 Atlanta Road SE in Smyrna.

Organizers are seeking donations of Amazon gift cards, linens (all sizes: pillows, sheets, comforters), small kitchen appliances (toasters, toaster ovens, coffee makers), kitchen utensils (can openers and silverware), and pots and pans.
