GORE, New Zealand — Police have arrested two men in connection with this week’s shooting in Gore, taking the pair into custody in Invercargill on Thursday afternoon, Dec. 18.
The men, aged 36 and 54, face a range of charges and are scheduled to appear in Invercargill District Court today, police said. One victim remains in hospital recovering from injuries sustained in the incident, while the second victim has been discharged.
Investigators reported that multiple lines of inquiry are ongoing and that information from the public has been instrumental in advancing the case. Police continue to seek additional details from anyone who has not yet spoken with investigators, noting that even small observations may prove significant.
As the investigation proceeds, officers will maintain a visible presence in Gore over the coming days with reassurance patrols intended to support the community.
