Clarksville, Tennessee, to welcome new city council members

Clarksville, Tennessee, is set to welcome several newly elected members to the city council.

Carlos Peters in Ward 3, Jerry Haywood in Ward 8 and Jimmy Brown Ward 9 will be new to the council once sworn into office early in 2025. Additionally, previous city councilman Tim Chandler returns to Ward 4, succeeding Wallace Redd, who announced his resignation from office effective Oct. 31.

Voters also elected two council members previously appointed to fulfill unexpired council terms: Ambar Marquis in Ward 5 and Keri Lovato in Ward 12:

“The newly-elected members bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the city council,” Mayor Joe Pitts said in a release. “We look forward to working with them, along with the returning members who have served well.”

The newly-elected council members will take the oath of office at the beginning of the City Council regular session on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025.
