New York City is spooky not only because of concerns about its uptick in crime but because it is the best city for Halloween this year.
The finding was included in WalletHub’s Best Cities for Halloween in 2024 report. The personal finance website compared the 100 largest U.S. cities across 20 key metrics, including costume stores per capita and the share of potential trick-or-treat stops, to devise the list, which found Jersey City, New Jersey, to be the second-best city for Halloween.
Americans are expected to spend $11.6 billion this year for Halloween.
Separately, KURU Footwear found Utah, New Jersey, Hawaii, Pennsylvania and California were the best states for trick-or-treating this year.
Meanwhile, a survey of more than 1,000 U.S. adults from Lawn Love found 90.4 percent of people plan to celebrate Halloween this year. Nearly 52.4percent of people always decorate their house for the holiday.
