SMYRNA, Georgia — StillFire Brewing is still planning to build its Smyrna location with an eye toward opening next year.
“The financial and construction sectors of the economy have been particularly brutal the past year,” the brewery said in a Facebook post. “Georgia breweries have been especially hard hit with factors outside of our control causing major delays for this project. Increased budgets/costs, inflation, and higher interest rates all added headwinds to a project of this magnitude. Throughout the process, our number one goal has been to bring Smyrna the brewery it deserves, which meant weathering these uncertainties.”
StillFire officials said they have secured financing commitments and are finalizing contracts. Construction should start “in the coming months.”
“We are working diligently to complete our final plans for the required permits” StillFire said in its post. “Visible progress on the site will start early this fall, with a planned opening in 2025.”
“Trust us when we say that we are just as anxious to become a part of the Smyrna community as you are for us to be there,” StillFire added. “We share in your frustration in the delays; but know it has been our focus to make sure we not only build a great brewery for Smyrna, but a social gathering place for the community, that is built to last for many years to come. We want our brewery to be a place everyone is proud of.”
