New Zealand police charge man over ferry threats

New Zealand authorities have charged a 33-year-old man with with threatening to harm people/property in relation to the threat directed at the Cook Strait ferry services in Picton.

He will appear in the Blenheim District Court, police said in a news release.

A search of ferry facilities in Picton dis not turn up anything suspicious, Stuff reported. Authorities evacuated ferry and terminal buildings for both the Bluebridge and Interislander ferries, Newshub reported.

Ferry services subsequently resumed operations, according to reports.
