Southern Museum hosting special National Postal Museum exhibit

The Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History will display items from National Postal Museum (NPM) in Washington D.C.

The special exhibit, featuring materials from both the Civil War and the Railway Mail Service after the war, opens Oct. 11, 2017.

Items on loan from the NPM include Owney tags, Railway Mail Service (RMS) badges, a railway mail sack, a railway mail-on-the-fly pouch and four Civil War envelopes (also known as “covers”).
