ATLANTA — A special task force will be exploring what impact repealing the Affordable Care Act, known colloquially as Obamacare, will have on the state, Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle announced today.
The Obamacare repeal and replace task force will be “looking at ways in which the state itself will be focused on taking the issue to the state level and looking at ways in which we can bring about a health care system that is more affordable and acceptable to individuals within our state,” Cagle said during a press conference this morning to announce the 2017 Republican Caucus legislative agenda.
President-elect Donald Trump made repealing and replacing Obamacare a key component of his campaign. Georgia looks to have a front-row seat after Trump nominated U.S. Rep. Tom Price, R-Ga., to serve as Secretary of the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
During this morning’s press conference, Cagle also endorsed Price for the Trump Administration role.
