Mary Norwood to speak to Buckhead Business Association

ATLANTA — Atlanta City Councilwoman Mary Norwood is set to address the Buckhead Business Association (BBA) on Thursday.

Norwood, who was elected to her current post in November 2013, will speak to the civic organization during its weekly breakfast meeting.

The councilwoman was first elected to the Atlanta City Council in 2001 and served two terms. She ran for mayor in 2009, an election Mayor Kasim Reed won by about 700 votes.

Norwood was named to the in January 2013, which she left to run for city council. She chairs the Committee on Council and also serves on the public safety, transportation and zoning committees.

The BBA meets for breakfast at 7:30 a.m. most Thursdays. Member tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door; non-member tickets are $20.
