CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A proposed Chattanooga Whiskey distillery and tasting room is expected to open along Market Street near the famed Chattanooga Choo Choo hotel, according to Nooga.com and other media reports.

The company, which has been selling whiskey distilled in Lawrenceburg, Ind., planned to open in the John Ross Building located at Fourth and Market streets. However, structural problems with the building apparently forced the change in plans, the Chattanoogan and other reports suggest.

The new 2,500-square-foot location near the Chattanooga Choo Choo hotel is at least the third location the company has proposed, according to the Chattanooga Times Free Press. Before Chattanooga Whiskey could even start work on the in town distillery, the company had to work to change state laws to allow a distillery in Hamilton County.
