ATLANTA — The Georgia House of Representatives have passed a measure that could allow faster travel steeps on interstates throughout Georgia.
Under House Bill 774, which passed the state House this week by a 157-7 margin, top speeds on Georgia interstates might increase from 65 m.p.h. to 70 m.p.h. The measure now heads to the state Senate.
According to CBS Atlanta, a traffic study would be required before the speed limits are actually increased. And, even if the bill is passed into law, there is no guarantee speed limits will actually increase.
