Denison University improved to 4-1 for the first time since 1986 after it knocked off DePauw University, 42-21 at Deeds-Piper Stadium in Granville, Ohio.
Denison’s Brandon Sklenar threw for 292 yards and four touchdowns and also rushed for a pair of touchdowns in the win. DuShawn Brown was Sklenar’s favorite target on the afternoon, hauling in five passes for 93 yards and a touchdown.
DePauw (0-4) jumped out to a 14-7 first quarter lead, but the Denison Big Red (4-1) turned the tables with a 21-point third quarter. Saturday’s matchup, during Denison’s annual Big Red Weekend, marked the seventh contest between the schools; Denison holds a 5-2 advantage against the Tigers.
