New York distilled spirits drinkers pay the equivalent of $6.44 per gallon in state excise taxes on their stiff drinks, according to a new analysis from the Tax Foundation based on January 2020 data.

Three Republican U.S. senators from tourism-reliant states rolled out new legislation this week that would lift the COVID-19 restrictions on cruise ships by July 4 of this year.
