“I love your smile,” the waitress told me on the way out the door. The perfect compliment for the perfect evening.

So far this trip, dinner at Acqua Al 2 was the best meal we’ve had. The food kept coming, the wine was great and the atmosphere was jovial. To top it all off, the waitress was great, deserving of a 10 Euro tip, perhaps the first tip we’ve left so far.

The meals here are not only amazing, they’re quite large. The pasta keeps coming — better with each round. And considering how great the first round is, that’s pretty amazing. After about five rounds of pasta, the meat comes out — about two pounds for the six of us. We devoured it in a matter of minutes.

To complement it all, we had a mix of the house wine and Coltibuono (Chianti Classico).

For dessert, it was the cheesecake followed by a coffee.

Though I’m not usually a coffee drinker, I’ve enjoyed the three cups (they’re small) of coffee I’ve had every day — at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Starbucks has nothing on Italian coffee.

Tomorrow (or in about five hours), we head to Rome and the Vatican City. I’m really looking forward to not only Rome, but also the trip — on a train, for anyone who has a question.

Talk to you later.
