Disco Biscuits Perform In Roost

This Wednesday, Dec. 9, jam band The Disco Biscuits will be performing in the Roost.

The Disco Biscuits, widely popular with Phish and Grateful Dead fans, provide audiences with a unique blend of music. Currently, The Disco Biscuits are on a tour that takes them to such exotic places as Minneapolis, Minnesota; Las Vegas, Nevada; San Francisco, California; and Eugene, Oregon.

The group consists of Jon “The Barber” Gutwillig on guitar, Mark Brownstein on bass, Aron Spaga Magner on keyboards and Sam Altman on drums.

According to their web page (www.discobuscuits.com), “The Biscuits are the musical equivalent of s[a]cking and looting a small village.” It’ll be up to you to decide if that is a compliment.

Drummer Sam Altmanon questions, “Did YOU ever wonder why bands go through drummers like YOU go through edible panties. It’s because YOU ignore them. I don’t want to end up in the back of the van with a drumstick up my ass a sick smile on my face and some black Mexican heroin dripping from my nose.” Keyboardist Aron Magner states, “Egg beaters are really the way to go.”

The band’s first release, “Uncivilized Area,” allows fans to capture the unique Biscuits sound after the concert.

The CD is available through their web page (www.discobiscuits.com) and in limited stores.

One avid Disco Biscuits fan stated, “This band has a lot of potential. I think that when their popularity level rises, this band will definitely go somewhere.”

Wednesday’s show will begin at 10 p.m., and there is no cover charge for Denison students.
