This week’s Disney headlines highlight continued popularity for Magic Kingdom, character returns at classic attractions, reopening milestones, and behind-the-scenes operational news across Walt Disney World and Disneyland resorts worldwide.
With a host of recently opened attractions and experiences – and more on the horizon – 2024 is sure to be a year like no other at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. “New” extends to practically every corner of the world with new and returning nighttime spectaculars, stage shows and character appearances, resort expansions, seasonal festivals and special events.
“Over the next several years, the Walt Disney World Resort theme park will live up to that promise in a whole new way as it continues the biggest transformation of any Disney park in history, bringing the next generation of immersive storytelling to life through a plethora of new attractions and experiences,” the resort said in a news release.
Epcot guests will soon be able to visit the kingdom of Arendelle when the highly anticipated attraction Frozen Ever After opens in the Norway Pavilion. The ride replaces the popular Maelstrom attraction that closed in 2014.
Early next month, Epcot’s Maelstrom is set to go the way of World of Motion, Mission to Mars and, yes, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. Walt Disney World officials are Mr. Toading the Maelstrom.
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Florida – The 20th Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival kicks off this week at Walt Disney World. This year’s festival, which is presented by HGTV, runs through May 19. The 75-day-long festival, held at the Epcot theme park, includes “sweeping garden landscapes” and more than 100 “topiary spectacles,” including one promoting the upcoming Disney movie “Monsters University.” The festival will also feature nighttime illuminated gardens in Future World and the World
