Sally Lunn’s is a Historic Eating House and Tea Room in the oldest house in Bath, which dates to 1482. It is famous for serving the Sally Lunn Bun, a delicacy originally brought to Bath in 1680 by the Huguenot baker and refugee Solange Luyon, later anglicized to Sally Lunn. This regional specialty, similar to a brioche bun and enjoyed with savory or sweet toppings, is famous worldwide. The restaurant still makes the buns according to Lunn’s original recipe. The restaurant and the accompanying museum in the basement are an absolute must-see while in Bath and make for the perfect lunch destination.
