As your state representative for Georgia House District 87, it is my responsibility to address the concerns of constituents, especially when state laws are called into question. Recently, one of my constituents approached me with concerns regarding a proposed crematory development along Memorial Drive, asking whether it would violate Georgia state law.

On Monday, October 21, 2024, Speaker of the House Jon Burns (R-Newington) sent a letter to Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Mike Johnson, Leader Chuck Schumer, Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Leader Mitch McConnell, as well as members of Georgia’s Congressional Delegation, to request that emergency relief funds be provided to the southeastern states impacted by recent severe weather events as a series of block grants.
