A Georgia commission will explore ways to promote civic engagement and improve the state’s K-12 curriculum on public service.

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp signed an executive order to suspend the state’s excise tax on motor fuel sales through mid-August. The order, signed Friday morning, also suspends the collection of the state sales tax on locomotive fuel.

It’s been a hot start to Georgia’s summer and the Peach State’s gubernatorial race is a dead heat.
