Wyandot Chief Shateyaronyah was known as a friend to the white settlers who lived in what is now Central Ohio. So strong was his word, according to legend, he gained the nickname Leatherlips.
“The Town Too Tough to Die” is best known for the events of Oct. 28, 1881, when Wyatt Earp, his brothers and Doc Holliday gunned down three cowboys in what is remembered as the “Gunfight at the OK Corral.”
