The Smyrna City Council has approved the Smyrna Downtown Redevelopment Plan, clearing the way for the city to issue a request for qualifications as early as this year.
The Smyrna Optimist Club raised $2,500 at its Santa House and donated the proceeds to the Smyrna Public Safety Foundation for the annual Shop With a Hero.
The power grid wasn’t built for today’s demands, and the rise of artificial intelligence, data centers, and an ever-growing demand for electricity is straining the aging grid.
The Georgia Department of Transportation said it awarded 22 projects valued at roughly $120.1 million at its December State Transportation Board meeting.
The Smyrna City Council authorized a 10-year agreement with Flock Safety to expand the city’s public-safety technology network, a package valued at $5,717,500 that includes additional license-plate recognition cameras, software integration and two remotely launched aerial drones for incident response.
Smyrna’s local heroes will brighten the holidays of 90 area schoolchildren and their families during the annual Shop With a Hero event in early December.
