Perhaps, the single hardest thing for an artist to do is to promote one’s music. The music world is full of critics and record executives who are out only to make money.
There aren’t many musicians who have the luxury of taking ten years to complete an album. Much less still wind up with a job on the biggest tour in recent history, the reunion tour of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.
At 10 p.m. on next Tuesday, Sept. 28, Denison students will have the opportunity to witness one such group performing traditional mountain songs in their original spirit.
There are few bands who have the ability to perform with such intensity so as to bring the music to a new level yet maintain the intimacy of a well-composed song.
It has come to my attention from stories I have heard and through my own experiences that our system of government no longer follows the basic principle that we are “innocent until proven guilty.”
