Railfanning.org continues to publish new content highlighting railroads and the role they played in the history of Athens and Northeast Georgia. The website, which focuses on all aspects of railroads, first launched a page dedicated to Athens circa 2005. Among the Athens-relevant content the website has published are articles about the Athens Terminal Co., the Gainesville Midland and the Hartwell Railroad, which operates The Athens Line through downtown Athens.
