WILLEMSTAD, Curaçao — Curaçao welcomed 79,387 stayover visitors in January 2026, an 8% increase from January 2025 that brought an additional 6,098 arrivals, the Curaçao Tourist Board said.

The board said the nearly 80,000 stayover visitors marked a strong peak-season month, supported by demand across key source markets. By region, arrivals increased 15% from South America, 8% from North America and 6% from Europe, while the Caribbean declined 6% compared with January 2025.

Europe remained Curaçao’s largest source region in absolute terms, with 28,922 stayover visitors, followed by North America with 25,651 and South America with 21,053, according to Immigration Card data. Visitors stayed an average of 9.4 nights in January, a 4% increase from the same month a year earlier, the board said.

The Netherlands led individual source markets with 24,443 visitors, up 6% from 23,109 in January 2025. Most Dutch visitors, 59%, chose non-resort accommodations, and they stayed an average of 13.7 nights.

The United States posted a 2% increase to 18,069 visitors; 63% stayed in resort hotels, and the average stay was 6.4 nights. Canada rose 26% to 7,582 visitors, who stayed an average of 11 nights, with half choosing resort hotels.
