Iconic Savannah restaurants The Lady & Sons and The Chicken Box close after 36 years

SAVANNAH, Georgia — After 36 years of serving Southern cuisine and hospitality, Paula Deen’s iconic Savannah restaurants, The Lady & Sons and The Chicken Box, have officially closed their doors.

The final day of service was Thursday, July 31.

“Thank you for all the great memories and for your loyalty over the past 36 years,” Paula, Jamie and Bobby Deen said in a message posted to The Lady & Sons website. “We have endless love and gratitude for every customer who has walked through our doors.”

While the Savannah chapter comes to a close, Deen and her sons, Jamie and Bobby, will now focus on their four Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen locations in Pigeon Forge, Myrtle Beach, Nashville, and Branson.

“We are equally grateful to our incredible staff—past and present—whose hard work, care, and hospitality made The Lady & Sons what it was,” they added. “Savannah will always be our home, and we’ll always be here to support our wonderful community.”
