The Georgia Department of Transportation plans to amend the fiscal 2026 portion of its Statewide Transportation Improvement Program, covering the period from fiscal 2024 to fiscal 2027.

This amendment is intended to ensure fiscal constraint for fiscal 2026 and to reflect any changes in project phases since the Federal Highway Administration and Federal Transit Administration jointly approved the STIP on Oct. 20, 2023.

The STIP outlines Georgia’s four-year transportation and capital improvements program, which includes federally funded projects located outside the boundaries of the Metropolitan Transportation Organization.

In addition to seeking public comments on the fiscal 2026 STIP Amendment, GDOT is also informing the public about projects awarded by the Department of Natural Resources and the Eastern Federal Lands Highway Division during the fiscal 2025 to fiscal 2028 Transportation Improvement Program Midyear Update.

These projects will primarily be implemented within the boundaries of the Federal Land Management Agency units located in the state. They will be included in an appendix to the current STIP for reference.

GDOT encourages the public to participate in the comment period, which is currently open and will close on July 31. Feedback received will be shared with the project sponsors.
