Smyrna, Georgia, officials will hold the next City Council meeting at 7 p.m. on April 7 in the Council Chambers at Max Bacon City Hall.
The council will recognize National Child Abuse Prevention Month and National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, with Ward 2 Councilmember Latonia P. Hines presenting the proclamation.
A public hearing will be held for a variance request to reduce the side setback from 10 feet to 1 foot at 2596 South Cobb Drive, presented by Silver Lodestone Inc.
The council will consider several key items, including authorization to approve a contract with SCA Construction to construct 44 parking spaces at 2688 Atlanta Road, funded by the 2022 SPLOST, with a budget not exceeding $454,516.
Additionally, the council will authorize the city’s financial officer and the mayor to establish bank accounts and be named authorized signatories. Another item on the agenda is the approval to exchange city-owned property for land owned by Foundry Watkins Property LLC and authorize the mayor to execute related documents.
The council will review and approve minutes from previous meetings and authorize road closures for upcoming events, including College Football Saturdays at Village Green Park and crosswalk painting in front of City Hall.
