Donald Trump completed the most improbable political comeback, taking the oath of office today as the republic’s 47th president.
Trump, who served as the 45th president from 2017 to 2021, is only the second commander-in-chief to serve nonconsecutive terms. Grover Cleveland was the first, serving as the 22nd president from 1885 until 1889 and the 24th president from 1893 to 1897.
