Trump signs order to establish Task Force on Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday

Happy Birthday, America!

President Donald Trump today signed an executive order establishing the White House Task Force on Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday.

Trump will chair the task force, and Vice President J.D. Vance will serve as vice chair. The chair will appoint an executive director who will administer and execute the task force’s day-to-day operations.

The order also reinstated an order Trump issued in June 2020 to protect America’s monuments from vandalism. and orders issued in July 2020 to build and rebuild monuments to American heroes and to create a National Garden of American Heroes.

The assistant to the president for domestic policy will recommend to the President additional historically significant Americans for inclusion in the National Garden of American Heroes to bring the total number of heroes to 250.
