Fulton County Sheriff’s Office conducts proactive New Year’s Day traffic enforcement

ATLANTA – The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Support Team conducted a proactive traffic enforcement detail along Georgia Highway 400 from New Year’s Eve night into the early morning hours of New Year’s Day.

The operation, aimed at promoting roadway safety during the holiday period, resulted in:

  • 32 Traffic Stops: Resulting in 28 warnings and 4 citations issued for various violations
  • 7 Field Sobriety Evaluations: Conducted to identify impaired drivers
  • 2 DUI Arrests: Ensuring that individuals driving under the influence were removed from the roads
  • 2 Vehicle Impounds: Taken off the road due to violations

“The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to protecting our citizens and ensuring safe travel on our highways. This New Year’s operation reflects our ongoing commitment to public safety and to keeping impaired and reckless drivers off the road,” Sheriff Patrick Labat said in a release. “Operations that we conduct like this act as a force multiplier in assisting our Fulton County law enforcement partners.”
