Travel beckons with the arrival of autumn.
To help travel planners, LawnStarter has released its Best States to Visit This Fall ranking.
The site compared the 48 contiguous U.S. states using 23 metrics across four categories, including the projected length of fall foliage, peak foliage, scenic drives and pumpkin patches.
California ranked the best state to visit this fall, while Washington and Oregon rounded out the top three. Conversely, Louisiana ranked as the worst state to visit this fall, edging out Delaware and Oklahoma.
