(ExpressTelegraph.com) — Atlanta hosting the NFL’s Super Bowl in 2028 will allow Georgia to showcase all it “has to offer and why this is the best place to live, work, and raise a family,” Georgia Lt. Governor Burt Jones said.

On Tuesday, the NFL announced it had selected Atlanta to host Super Bowl LXII in 2028.

“Hosting events like the Super Bowl serve as premiere opportunities for economic development and for Georgia to show the nation and world all that our state has to offer and why this is the best place to live, work, and raise a family,” Jones said in a statement.

“I want to thank the NFL for selecting Atlanta as the host city for Super Bowl LXII and highlight the partnership between the city, state, and corporate community that makes this all possible,” Jones added. “I look forward to working with this partnership group and everyone across Georgia to ensure Atlanta, our state’s capital city, remains a great place to host these major events.”

The 2028 game will mark the fourth Super Bowl in Atlanta. The City Too Busy to Hate also hosted the Big Game in February 2019 (Super Bowl LXII), January 1994 (Super Bowl XXVIII) and January 2000 (Super Bowl XXXIV).

“This is a tremendous honor for the city of Atlanta and the state of Georgia to be selected as host for Super Bowl LXII,” Falcons owner Arthur M. Blank said in a statement.
