ATLANTA (September 4, 2024) — Today, Sen. Derek Mallow (D–Savannah), issued the following statement on today’s shooting at Apalachee High School in Barrow County:

“My prayers go out to the Apalachee High School community, teachers, staff, faculty, administrators and the parents who are affected by the tragic events today.

I am reminded of the scripture in Psalm 34:18 that the Lord draws near the brokenhearted. I pray for comfort for these families and this community.

I pray the Lord to grant them comfort.”

ATLANTA — The scheduled execution of a man convicted of murdering his parents and his 14-year-old sister in Cobb County in 1993 has been postponed a day, various outlets reported.
