SMYRNA, Georgia — Emory Healthcare, which has a reputation for leaving patients in a lurch, is closing its Emory Smyrna Hospital at the end of the year.
“Despite a decade of hard work and good intentions, Emory Healthcare has decided not to renovate Emory Smyrna Hospital,” Emory said in a notice on its website. “Several challenges and the COVID-19 pandemic delayed the intended renovations by many years, which ultimately resulted in the decision to discontinue hospital services at the end of December 2024.”
Emory’s Family Practice in Dunwoody closed without warning, canceling at least one patient appointment without advance notice.
