Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum changes name to Intrepid Museum

The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum has officially changed its name to the Intrepid Museum.

The museum, which opened in 1982, has also launched a new website with a new logo that pays tribute to its rich history and the people who served on the Intrepid. It also reflects its commitment to remaining relevant for future generations.

The new logo features a stylized representation of the aircraft carrier Intrepid as seen from the bow, surrounded by three color panels representing the museum’s collection of space vehicles (black), seafaring vessels (sea blue), and aircraft (sky blue).

The logo simplifies the shape of the bow of the Intrepid, which is the view most people see when approaching the museum. When rotated, the shape transforms into the silhouette of an aircraft in flight and a spacecraft ascending into the sky.
