Steak Cook-Off at the Southeastern Railway Museum set for March 28

DULUTH, Ga. — The Southeastern Railway Museum will hosta Steak Cook-Off Association (SCA) sanctioned cook-off on March 28.

The event is open to the public, who will be able to interact with participating teams.

The museum will be open for its regular museum hours (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) during the cook-off. Teams participating in the event will start setting up at 8 a.m.

The first portion of the day’s judging is at 12 p.m. when teams turn in their Bloody Marys. The appetizer turn-in follows at 1 p.m., and the steak turn-in is set for 2 p.m.

Judges will announce the winners at 4 p.m.

Museum attendees can enjoy live music, and the museum will be selling BBQ sandwiches. 3 Taxi Guys is sponsoring the BBQ lunch, and proceeds from the sales will benefit the museum.

Stock Yards Prime Steaks & Meats is sponsoring the steaks for the competition.

The museum will follow-up the Steak Cook-Off with its annual Caboose Days on April 4-5. The event will feature prizes, live music and presentations about caboose and railroad history.
