Pulling into Wellington on The Northern Explorer train from Auckland, it is readily apparent Wellington — New Zealand’s capital city — is a destination worth exploring.

Officials in New Zealand say they have now identified 13 new cases of COVID-19 in Auckland, the nation’s largest city, all directly related to the four cases from the same household reported Tuesday.

Dunedin was such an unexpected city. The architecture, in many ways, is unlike other cities in New Zealand. I was particularly drawn to the city’s history, which is evident at every turn.
