WINTER PARK, Fla. — Scenic boat tours in Winter Park today celebrated their 77th year of taking travelers for scenic tours across a series of lakes.
Capt. Walt Meloon of Pinecastle Boat Works is credited with taking tourists on the first boat ride on Jan. 1, 1938.
Today, the tour gives travelers a unique look at the many mansions along the banks of lakes Osceola, Maitland and Virginia. Travelers are also treated to views of native wildlife and flowers along the lakes and their banks and also Rollins College.
