AMR Corp., the parent company of American Airlines, Inc., and US Airways Group Inc. today said that they intend to mount a vigorous and strong defense to the U.S. Department of Justice’s effort to block their proposed merger.
The Road to Tara Museum in Jonesboro, Ga., is expanding its Civil War exhibit. The exhibit formerly existed in a portion of the museum, but now includes two rooms dedicated to the commemoration and remembrance of the Civil War’s Atlanta Campaign and the Battle of Jonesboro. The new exhibit will be open to the public beginning Labor Day weekend. The expansion’s opening coincides with the final year of the Sesquicentennial celebration of the Civil War.
