Nearly one quarter of adults (24 percent) say they need a vacation when they return from a family trip.
That’s according to a new survey from Cambria Suites, which revealed that among adults living with children under the age of 18, the number increases to 29 percent. Additionally, 7 percent of respondents even look forward to a “solo” business trip as a way to recover from a family vacation.
That could be because kids ask their parents “Are we there yet?” an average of nine times during a seven-day family vacation. Parents with children six years old and younger can look forward to answering the question “Are we there yet?” about 13 times during a week-long trip.
“Industry data shows that consumers are regaining confidence in the economy and more families are taking a vacation this year compared to last year,” Michael Murphy, senior vice president of Cambria Suites, said in a news release. “It’s safe to say that the great tradition of the summer family vacation is on its way back.”
